Signed Up At Pacific Poker

I signed up for an account at Pacific Poker through CasinoOwnage, for a $50 promo. Pacific Poker is owned by 888.com, and their poker bonus works the same way as their casino bonus. You can make the necessary deposit to get a $100 bonus right away. You are then allowed to withdraw your original deposit and just play with the bonus money risk-free. To withdraw the $100 bonus money, you need to wager $2000 at the poker tables. Email me for a referral if anyone wants to give this site a try.

Bet365 February Bonus

I played some more at Bet365 to clear the 500 raked hands for their $50 February bonus. This time I lost $32 at the tables, for a net profit of $18.

I'm going to stop doing the monthly bonus at Bet365 for now. It is a 10x bonus (need to clear 10 times the bonus amount in raked hands), and it is just not worth the time and effort. There are better bonuses around (some are 5x or 7x), and clearing these or a PSO promo is a much better use of my time.

PartyPoker Gift Certificate

The PartyPoker "gift certificate" from PSO is actually a transfer of funds. It unfortunately has a play requirement of 50 hands before you are allowed to withdraw it. Luckily, though, the tables at PP tend to be pretty soft, so you are likely to make a bit of profit while clearing the requirements. I made about $31 this time clearing the requirements for my gift certificate.

Signed Up At EmpirePoker

EmpirePoker (EP), like PokerNow, is an ex-Party skin which plays on the old PP network. I signed up through CasinoOwnage, which is a casino and poker bonus information site run by Actyper, one of the PSO regulars, for a $25 promo. EP has a $100 sign-up bonus which clears after 500 raked hands.

Played More At Absolute Poker

After playing some more at AP and concentrating on tightening up my game and making fewer bad calls, I managed to turn my game around and become profitable. Since finishing the promo requirements, I have managed to make $140 at the tables and cleared another $20 in bonus. I'm much happier with this result, now, and will be moving on to another promo after this.

Finished PokerNow

I lost $30 at the tables, and got $100 in bonus, for a net profit of $70. The players left over on the old Party network tend to be rocks. These are tight-passive players who generally play only premium starting hands, and will fold to any significant action. It can be difficult to profit from a table full of rocks, unless you are good at playing a loose-aggressive game, which I am not. I still managed to be profitable after the bonus, however, so I'm satisfied with that.

Finished Absolute Poker Promo

After playing pretty poorly, I finished the 400 raked hands and lost $130 at the tables, made $40 in bonus money, and got 9000 PSO points which I used to buy a $100 PP gift certificate, for a net profit of $10. I know I played poorly because, thinking back, I played too many starting hands (played too loose), and called too many bets where my odds of making my hand were not too good. I think I will play some more at AP, but tighten up my play and call bets only when my chances to improve my hand are better.

Signed Up At PokerNow

PokerNow used to be on the same network as PartyPoker, until PP started their own network and left all the Party skins on the old network. They have a sign-up bonus of $100, which clears after 500 raked hands. I decided to sign up for this because it's a decent bonus, and also PokerNow is likely to be bought out by PP, so this bonus won't be available for long.

Finished PartyPoker Reloads

After clearing both reload bonuses and continuing to play a bit more just for fun, I lost $30 at the tables, and netted $185 in bonuses (had to spend $15 to join Poker Player's Alliance), for a net profit of $155.

I'm not too happy with my play at the moment. I think I'm basically just a break-even player right now, so I'm going to buy a couple poker books and do some reading to see if I can improve my play. I've decided to get Winning Low-Limit Hold'em by Lee Jones and The Theory of Poker by David Sklansky from Amazon.ca.
